Our mission goes further than coffee.
Giving back to our communities and partners-locally and globally-is the foundation on which The Roasterie was built. The producers, farms, and families work tirelessly to harvest and provide us with the world's best coffee, and we get to share it with you.
We support our partners through streamlined contracting and sales, allowing for more stable market prices and impactful investments to improve the quality of life for producers and employees at the farm level. Beyond coffee, we've supported our coffee-producing partners in everything, from building a preschool to investing in new farming technology and best practices.
In Kansas City, we've supported our local community and organizations for over 30 years. It's at the core of what we do. Through monetary donations, volunteering our time, and providing coffee we are proud to support local schools, events, and so much more. It's important to us to give back to the community and people that have supported us over the last three decades.
Partners with a purpose
The Roasterie is proud to feature three of our local partnerships with Children's Mercy Hospital, The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, and The Kansas City Monarch's & Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. Each organization plays a critical role in the community, and we are fortunate to have these long-standing partnerships.
Children's Mercy Hospital
Children's Mercy is a leading independent children's health organization dedicated to holistic care, translational research, breakthrough innovation, and educating the next generation of caregivers. The Roasterie café inside Children's Mercy Kansas City Adele Hall Campus in downtown KC serves healthcare workers, caregivers, and parents.
And, in honor of Nora Jane, who spent 159 days at CMH receiving the highest level of care, we offer the Comfort Cup, a Lavender Mint Oat Milk Latte which became Nora’s mom’s regular order. Proceeds from the Comfort Cup benefit the Children’s Mercy Family Support Fund, taking care beyond medicine and providing comfort for families like Nora’s.
The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge
The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge program provides a free home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers. More than just a roof over their heads, it’s a nurturing community that helps patients access the care they need. Together we created the Cup of Hope Blend of Coffee, available online or in cafes to raise awareness for the Hope Lodge, and give back to this incredible organization. 10% of all Cup of Hope Blend sales are donated to Hope Lodge.
The Kansas City Monarchs & Negro Leagues Baseball Museum
In 2021 The Kansas City Monarchs forged a partnership with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, bringing new life and meaning to this historic team name. We’re proud to partner and support the mission of these two amazing local organizations. In collaboration with the Monarchs and Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, we created the Trailblazer Blend. Named after Cool Papa Bell, Satchel Paige, Jackie Robinson, Buck O’Neil, and all the courageous ballplayers that forged a path toward a united future, this blend is available year-round, with 10% of all proceeds going directly back to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.
