This coffee is sourced from small, family owned farms organized around Asociación de Productores de Café Especial La Orquídea (ASOPROCAFEES), a cooperative of 59 members who live in the La Orquídea community in the municipality of Planadas in Tolima. The cooperative was founded in 2014 and began exporting coffee just a year later in 2015. ASOPROCAFEES assists its members in the effort to improve coffee quality using sustainable agricultural practices and works to obtain better prices for their coffee by producing an excellent product and working with importers and roasters who share their values. These partnerships enable members to reinvest in their farms and better provide for their families.
