Guatemala La Florida
$19.00 – $97.00
Nestled deep in Huehuetenango, a region in the Western Highlands of Guatemala, you’ll find the home of our La Florida Reserve coffee. Huehuetenango is superior for producing coffee due to its climate and geography. We are proud to be supporting Doña Romelia Sánchez Gómez, the extraordinary woman at the origin of this coffee, as she cultivates exemplary harvests. This fully-washed reserve is bursting with tropical flavors like citrus and orange blossom to create a truly invigorating cup of coffee.
Grower: Romelia Sánchez Gómez
Elevation: 5250 ft.
When Doña Romelia Sánchez Gómez first purchased her farm in 2006, the area was not being used to its fullest potential. Under her careful supervision, however, this 262 acre plot of land in the Huehuetenango region has blossomed into a fruitful coffee farm. Doña Romelia’s success comes in large part from her keen eye for detail and her nurturing attitude towards her family, workers, plants, and soil. She has big plans for her farm, which also produces peaches and avocados, including land expansion and the introduction of new management procedures with the aim of enhancing coffee cultivation. Here at The Roasterie, we are happy to be working alongside such motivated and caring farmers!
La Florida is processed using the washed method, which creates a clean, complex cup of coffee. We taste notes of tropical fruit and orange blossom, with a sweet, honey-like finish. We’re sure you’ll love this limited edition coffee.
