Roasterie Event Space Hosts First Wedding Reception

When we opened our event space, the Bean Hangar, back in October 2012, we were thrilled with the potential it had.  We could envision business meetings, luncheons, awards ceremonies, cuppings, coffee competitions and parties taking place at the Bean Hangar even when the sawdust was still settling.  But perhaps most exciting of all, we could imagine weddings and wedding receptions taking place in our new, modern Kansas City event space.

Lucky for us, Lindsay Howes, wedding planner at Simple Elegance, saw the potential too—even before we had finished construction!  She had a bride tour our event space while it was still under construction and both immediately saw a beautiful opportunity in front of them.  The bride quickly booked the Bean Hangar as her wedding venue.

“It was very risky for this bride to select the Roasterie’s event space while it was still under construction,” explains Lindsay.  “You never know how it is going to turn out!  But we worked with Jennifer at The Roasterie and she presented everything in such a great way.  We knew we would be taken care of.”

Lucky for Lindsay and her bride, The Roasterie event space, the Bean Hangar, was completed back in 2012 and is the perfect venue for a local, Kansas City-inspired wedding reception.

“The Bean Hangar is a blank slate,” explains Lindsay. “You can do so many different things with all of the rooms.  You can use the cupping room as a coffee and dessert room.  You can use the café as a cocktail hour area.  It’s a creative space that you can transform into any style to fit your vision.”

The Roasterie hosted its first ever wedding reception at the Bean Hangar on Saturday, April 27, 2013 and featured a vintage chic vibe with elegant details.  We look forward to hosting more wedding receptions in our one-of-a-kind Kansas City event space for many more years to come.  If you’re a blushing bride and are looking for an event space in Kansas City, we encourage you to stop by the Bean Hangar—we almost guarantee you’ll say “I do!”.
