The Roasterie Celebrates Survival with The University of Kansas Hospital

One of the best parts of being a small Kansas City business is our passion (not to mention ability) to give back to the KC community.  Whether it be through handing out free coffee at Brookside soccer games or producing one of our many different Cause Blends, we love giving back, supporting the community and helping to solve some of the world’s biggest problems.

The problem we hope to help tackle this August is cancer.  In order to help, we are hosting The University of Kansas Hospital’s 35th Anniversary Celebration on August 17, 2013 at our Kansas City event space, the Bean Hangar.

At the Anniversary Celebration, over 350 past BMT (bone marrow transplant) patients will celebrate the program and their survival.  The event will include a dinner, short program and plenty of caffeinated dancing.

We are thrilled to support The University of Kansas Cancer Center and the BMT program.  Thanks to the program, thousands of people have experienced almost immediate donor matches and have had their lives saved.  As a matter of fact, KU’s first bone marrow transplant took place all the way back in 1977 and is now the region’s largest BMT program.

We look forward to spreading awareness about cancer and celebrating the survival of those who have undergone a bone marrow transplant.  We are counting down until August 17 so we can meet some of these incredible survivors, hear their stories and celebrate the lives they have.

The 35th Anniversary Celebration is invite-only!  But if you’d like to learn more about our Roasterie events and causes, click here.
