Top 5 Things Tourists Can Do In Kansas City

With the holidays right around the corner, many of you Kansas Citians may be bringing in guests for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukah and other celebrations.  But besides cooking, unwrapping presents and playing in the snow, what are you and your guests going to do in Kansas City?  Lucky for you, The Roasterie has narrowed down the top 5 things to do in Kansas City this fall and winter…and trust us…your guests will love this KC experience!

It’s time to wake up early, brew that fresh cup of coffee for your guests and then hit the road to check out these top 5 Kansas City to-do’s!

1.      The Roasterie Plant Tour

We have a completely renovated facility and can’t wait for you to see it!! On our coffee plant tours, not only do you get to try some of our best coffee, but you also get to learn about all the work we put in to bring you the best cup o’ Joe around.  Come learn all about our best-of-the-best coffee beans, snag a picture of our sky-high DC-3 airplane and shop all of our great merchandise in our brand new café.  Our tours at $5 a person and are open to both large parties and small groups.  To RSVP for a tour, call 816-931-4000 or email

2.      Boulevard Brewery Tour

From one type of brewer to another, we say this tour is a must-do (but that’s only if you can get in!  Online reservations fill up fast!). One of the most popular tours in KC is the Boulevard Brewery tour—an inside-look at the local Kansas City brewery.  On the Boulevard tour, your friends and family will have the chance to learn the history of Boulevard, check out the incredible factory and taste the suds of Boulevard’s labor with a taste test (the best part!).

3.      Google Fiber Tour

Everyone’s heard of Google, but not everyone has heard of Google Fiber.  Google Fiber is one of the fastest Internet speeds in the world (almost 100 times faster than current speeds!) that is being tested in Kansas City.  With the implementation of fiber, Google has also opened its brand new Google Fiber Space where guest and tourists can learn all about the new technology blooming in Kansas City.

4.      Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts Tour

This gorgeous new architectural marvel has quickly become a gem that completes the Kansas City downtown skyline. Located in the Crossroads Arts District, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts is the home to the ballet, lyric opera and the Kansas City Symphony. When admiring the building on a tour, it’s hard to believe it started out as a sketch on a napkin.

5.      The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

Planning your visit to Kansas City is easy—especially when great museums like the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is right at your fingertips.  With plenty of art, events, experiences and programs available daily, the Nelson-Atkins Museum is the perfect pit-stop for any Kansas City tourist.

This list isn’t an end-all-be-all of what to do in Kansas City, but it is a great starter’s guide. There is so much more to our city than meets the eye. But we recommend stopping by any one of these 5 locations for a true Kansas City experience (oh yeah, then you might want to grab some KC barbecue afterward!).
