The Roasterie Debuts 20th Anniversary Platinum Blend & Celebrates Two Decades Of Adventure

After recently landing a full- DC-3 aircraft atop our headquarters and opening our third cafe in the Kansas City metro area along with unveiling our Bean Hangar event space, our company, The Roasterie, is turning platinum in 2013! After 20 years of serving only the world’s best coffee to Kansas City and beyond, our Founder, Danny O’Neill debuted The Roasterie’s 20th Anniversary Platinum Blend on April 9, 2013.

About The Platinum Blend

The blend is handcrafted by The Roasterie’s master roasters and embodies the four major coffee growing regions of the world – Costa Rica, Brazil, Kenya, and Sulawesi, Indonesia. The taste profile embodies brightness with hints of sweet candy, tastes of berries, lemon/lime and grapefruit, mixed with spice to produce an exotic, clean and lingering finish that is seductive and vibrant. The 20th Anniversary Platinum Blend is available now online and at all three of The Roasterie Cafés in the Kansas City metro at 1204 West 27th Street, 6223 Brookside Boulevard, and 4511 119th Street in Leawood, Kan. The blend will be available in Kansas City-area grocer and retail partners on Wednesday, April 10.

Win A Trip To Costa Rica

To celebrate our 20th anniversary, as many of you know, we are providing our consumers the opportunity to win a bean picking trip for two to Costa Rica. The trip will be awarded to one winner participating in a photo contest in which fans are asked to submit a photo of them with any representation of The Roasterie. One first runner-up will win a $200 gift card to a Kansas City Originals restaurant and one second runner-up will win a $100 gift card to The Roasterie. The Roasterie giveaways will be awarded to 14 semifinalists. The contest is open to the public and runs through June. 20th Anniversary Celebrations

From the basement of his house in 1993 to a 33,000-square-foot facility topped with a DC-3 aircraft, Danny O’Neill, along with his staff, is celebrating 20 years with numerous events open to the public in 2013.

First Fridays

The Roasterie Café and Bean Hangar event space at 1204 West 27th Street will transform into First Fridays party quarters during the following dates with deejays, featured local artists, The Roasterie blends tastings, and community partners.

Barista Jam Competitions

The Roasterie Café and Bean Hangar event space will host quarterly competitions featuring area baristas’ creativity and craft. Workshops on various topics will also be offered to promote the ongoing education of coffee.

Public Cuppings and Factory Tours

Cuppings will be offered once per month at all of The Roasterie Cafés, providing attendees the opportunity to partake in the practice of observing the taste and aromatic profiles of various coffee blends, just as master tasters do to craft The Roasterie’s highest quality blends. Due to positive response, The Roasterie has also added a third factory tour to its schedule, offering free, guided excursions through its headquarters at 1204 West 27th Street. Factory tours are approximately an hour in length and start at 10:00 a.m., Monday – Saturday. An 11:00 a.m. and noon tour are also offered on Saturdays. A large-scale block party will take place in September, turning The Roasterie’s headquarters’ perimeter into a carnival-style party.
